When three is company

We’ll all finally know in about 12 days. After inadvertently delaying the release of her touted comeback, Ishkq In Paris, by about six months, actor Preity Zinta arrived in Chandigarh, at PVR Cinemas, on Saturday to promote her film that finally releases on May 24. Accompanied by co-star Rhehan Malliek and director Prem Raj, Preity says, “I am nervous about the film, as it has my name written all over it. My mother and I have produced it and my involvement goes way beyond than just acting.”

At this, director Prem Raj chips in, “Preity has been a part of progressive films such as Kya Kehna — where she played the role of a pregnant college girl — and Salaam Namaste — where her character was in a live-in relationship. This movie too will bring forth the story of two people being in love without any commitments.”

Relatively unknown facts about the film are that it re-launches model and TV actor Gaurav Channa as Rhehan Malliek, owing to his need of ‘starting afresh’, and French actor Isabelle Adjani apparently being the backbone of the film, adds Prem Raj, “Isabelle has always had an inclination towards India. She’s a great actor, and thus plays a pivotal role in the film.”

When asked if Rhehan feels he’s going to be overshadowed by Preity Zinta’s presence, he says, “No. In fact, she made me feel at par. I learnt a lot from her during the shoots. I believe after seeing the film, the audiences would think, ‘Oh Preity, why did you disappear?’”As if a part of the mutual-appreciation club, Preity goes on to say, “Rhehan himself is like a sponge. For a new-comer, he is exceptionally amazing!”
