Preview: RCB vs KXIP (IPL 2010 – Game 7)

What
The seventh game of IPL 2010 sees the Royal Challengers Bangalore host the Kings XI Punjab at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru

When
Tuesday, March 16, 2010. The game begins at 4.00 pm, IST.

Where
M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. It’s the Royal Challengers’ home ground. The ground will be buzzing with excitement and with the expectation that the home team would redeem themselves with a superlative performance.

It’s that time of the year when an early start to a game would leave both spectators and the players sweating it out under a sweltering sun. The weather at the stadium will be clear and perfect for a Twenty20 game.

The Protagonists
Royal Challengers Bangalore and their skipper Anil Kumble would be hoping that the home game would kick-start their title campaign. Having lost to the Kolkata Knight Riders in their opening encounter meekly, RCB need to dig deep to get back to their 2009 winning ways. Kumble will be hoping their new find, Eoin Morgan, bounces back.

The Kings XI Punjab are also nursing their wounds after having lost miserably to the Delhi Daredevils in their previous game. KXIP’s big guns didn’t fire in the first match and should be all set to come to the party against the Royal Challengers Bangalore. Yusuf Abdulla and Piyush Chawla could turn the game on their day.

What next?
Both the teams need to get going or face the humiliation of being left behind in the race to the semi-final position. The teams would be putting in long hours at the nets to get their first win in the bag. Whoever loses this match would find it difficult to come back in this tournament.
