Bollywood stars laugh at businessman

BOLLYWOOD stars have laughed off the bizarre story about the honest businessman who found nearly R450000 in cold, hard cash in the safe of a Port Elizabeth hotel room booked to the Indian Premier League cricket team, Kings XI Punjab, and returned it.

Shilpa Shetty, one of four co-owners of the Rahasthan Royals, said her team wouldn’t mind some extra cash.
“If you find any [more] money, give it to us,” she laughed, speaking at the official launch of the league competition at the Cape Town International Convention Centre.

Kings XI Punjab team owner Preity Zinta jokingly told The Times: “We were testing the hotel because we are going back there.
“In times of recession, you don’t leave money here and there. [Luckily,] we got the money back,” she added.

Bollywood legend Shahrukh Khan, who owns the Kolkata Knight Riders, said his team “have no money to lose in the first place”.
On Tuesday, businessman Stephen Blewett, of Altech Autopage Cellular, discovered the cash after a comedy of errors had the team storing the money in a vacant suite in the Garden Court Kings Beach hotel — and forgetting it.
Blewett handed the cash, meant for the players’ daily allowances, back to frantic hotel management after finding the sealed stacks of crisp R100 notes.
