Actress Preity Zinta avoids all questions on ex beau Ness Wadia, and dodges queries even remotely related to him.
Ask her why she missed friend Eesha Koppikhar and Timmy Narang’s wedding, despite playing the matchmaker to the couple, and the actress is quick to say, “I wanted to go, but I was unwell and could not make it.” Incidentally, Wadia was present at the function. And why didn’t she go for Shilpa Shetty’s wedding reception, where again her ex was spotted? “I wasn’t in the country then,” she replies.
Buzz is that the bubbly actress took off to Harvard to escape speculation about her break up, but Preity maintains she went there to grow as a businesswoman. “I think there is scope for everyone to learn more. As a businesswoman, I thought it would be interesting to do a course in business management.” She adds that once she was there, she wasn’t subject to stupid questions or enthusiastic fans because she tried to lie low. “I maintained a low profile and tried to be discreet,” says the actress, while in the Capital to attend a hair care seminar by Vatika Enriched Almond Hair Oil.
The actress, who is active on Twitter, also gives out her reason for joining the microblogging site. “There have been false stories circulating about me. There was also someone impersonating me on the site, so I thought I should join it myself,” she says.
Looking ahead, the actress says she will be “working round the clock the next year”. “I have signed three new films, plus I will be doing a chat show on cricket titled Behind the Seams. I’m also excited about the next season of IPL which is happening in India. But all the talk about my celeb chat show is hearsay. I’m still in talks for that.”

Preity Zinta’s special appearance and her item number actually manage to perk up the proceedings somewhat. The lady looks lovely- her impish charm which she revealed in Dil Se is still intact. It’s a shame that one isn’t getting to see more of her – Star Box Office
Preity Zinta plays a Pakistani singer named Haseena Jagmagia who unquestioningly agrees to seduce Salmanbhai, looking quite hot though (shouldn’t she get a few roles in Bollywood in between IPL games?) – India Today
The only saving grace is Priety Zinta, who has unabashedly swayed to a ‘Happening’ qawwali number, which does manage to have a gripping individuality of its own. – Spicezee

Preeti plays Haseen Jagmagiya in the film and, thankfully for Soni, she said ‘yes’ without much ado.‘Of course, she did have her initial reservations since she hadn’t played a part like this before. But then she also said, ‘What the heck, let me do it’. She laughed and agreed to be there.
‘Believe me, my day was made. I had got all the actors whom I wanted for the film and was raring to bring the film on the floors,’ he said.
Preity’s presence enhances the entertainment quotient of the film, says Soni.
‘But then she is not randomly walking in and walking out of the frames. As Haseena Jagmagiya, she is quite funny and comes at the point in the film when Salman and Kareena are on the verge of making or breaking their relationship as a married couple.’

Preity Zinta, we hear, has not charged a single penny from the Khans for the brief appearance she’s made in Main Aur Mrs Khanna.
A source said, “Preity and Salman have been good friends for a long time. The two have acted in Chori Chori Chupke Chupke, Har Dil Jo Pyar Karega, Dil Ne Jise Apna Kaha, Jaan-e-Man and Heroes. Preity shares a great rapport with Salman. And he’s stood by her whenever she needed him. So when they approached Preity to do a brief appearance in Main Aur Mrs Khanna, she agreed instantly.” In fact, according to the source, she even let money matters take a back seat. “She was just happy being a part of the film,” he said.

Preity Zinta, who is doing a dance number Happening for the film Main Aurr Mrs Khanna, has said to have put a lot of effort in to the song.
But she hates it when people refer to the dance number as an item song. Well, she has a ‘valid’ reason for that. She claims that the song has been picturised aesthetically and is actually a fun song.
“So, it’s not a good idea to call it an item song even before the film has released,” she said.
Even director Prem Soni is not happy that people have started calling it an item number. He has been trying hard to clarify it to everyone that it is not an item number.
“Preity is a senior actress and a star. She has never done something like this. It’s only because of her friendship with Salman that she agreed to do a fun, dance number. It would be wrong to call the song an item number,” says Soni.
The director insists the actress plays a much larger part in the story although she is there for a short period in the film.
“Preity plays Hasina Jagmagiya. It is a character which goes into the song Happening. Her character is very integral to the story as she is the one who leads to the climax,” adds Soni.
Preity’s dance number, Happening, has also been compared to the Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan’s Kajra Re from the movie Bunty aur Babli. Preity is also said to be planning to make a comeback in the endorsement world after Diwali with a bang.
Buzz is that with her revamped image, an international designer house has approached her to endorse its brand which soon will be launched in India. This advertisement, claim sources, will boost Preity’s flagging career.
The top French designer house will open stores in metros with the dimpled beauty as its brand ambassador.

They made a romantic pair and lit the screen in Farhan Akhtar’s directorial debut ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ and now Aamir Khan and Preity Zinta are all set to create the magic again. If Aamir’s plans materialize, Preity and Aamir will be seen together in a film produced by Aamir Khan Productions.
Aamir has signed a debutant director Shoumik Sen to direct this film starring Aamir in the lead and it’s Preity Zinta on Aamir’s mind for the female lead. Industry sources confirm that Aamir is already in talks with Preity for the film that will go on floors after ‘Delhi Belly’.
Bengali filmmaker Shoumik has started working on the script for this untitled film. Aamir has the habit of keeping his projects under wraps and so this time too, he would make announcements at the right time. All we can do is wait and watch…

After being in the news for many reasons (majorly about her personal front), Bollywood’s darling girl Preity Zinta is back in the news and how! Preity is back in the spotlight for her dedicated professionalism, something that she always has been an epitome of! The news is that the Zinta babe would be now seen in a special song in UTV’s and Sohail Khan Production’s grand Diwali release Main Aurr Mrs Khanna
Sources close to Bollywood Hungama said that “Preity was specially made to travel to Dubai for a single day to shoot for the song called ‘Happening’. Also that the ‘happening’ song in question is indeed a delight to watch and is bound to have everyone’s foot tapping.” The source also added that the production team had to spend a fortune on that single day outdoor shoot for Preity as the film’s director Prem Soni required a huge open air theater for the song which they managed to get in Dubai. The same source went onto add that “When Preity and director Prem Soni were brainstorming about the name of the choreographer who could do apt justice to this song, the only name that kept popping in their head was that was of Farah Khan. Not just that,with Farah Khan coming on board, both Prem Soni and Preity were just too happy!
A unit member from the same film informed us that, “Preity had a ten day rehearsal with Farah khan before she started shooting the song and everyday she would rehearse for a whopping 3 hours! She also was on a special diet and hardcore workout and yoga and swimming sessions, with just one basic motive: to be in shape for the song!”
All that we can do is to pat Preity on her back for exhibiting such dedication. Preity…one only hopes that all this dedication and hard work of yours pays you and the film rich dividends. Considering that the visuals of the song bear a striking similarity to the smash-hit ‘Kajraare’, we also hope that this song goes on to become as big a hit as the Bunty aur Babli number, if not more. We are sure that Preity will agree with us on this one!

You would be forgiven for thinking Preity Zinta’s doing a Kajre Re in this song for Salman Khan’s home production Main Aur Mrs Khanna.
Far from it, and the perky Preity doesn’t want any comparisons or confusion with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who shook her hips for father and son Bachchan in the 2005 hit Bunty Aur Babli.
Turns out Salman’s her buddy, and this is not an item song she’s doing for him, but a special number in the film co-starring Kareena Kapoor and Sohail Khan. “It’s an interesting cameo. The song’s called Happening and I agreed to do it because director Prem Soni is a friend. And since Salman has played Prem so often, let’s just say this one is for Prem,” the bubby actress said.
Prem (the director, not Salman) added, “Unlike Ash, who was just a part of Kajra Re, Preity plays an important role in the film.” Incidentally… ahem, Preity look’s kinda ‘happening’ because she worked out hard for the song. With two super fit actors in the film in Salman and Kareena, Preity forced herself to follow a special diet, take up a tough exercise regime and do yoga.

The waiting has been over! In six weeks Main Aur Mrs. Khanna will release. Preity will be sharing a frame with Kareena Kapoor, Sohail Khan and Salman Khan. Can you believe it? The Kal Ho Naa Ho times and now, they share a frame! The song is choreographed by Farah Khan and the clothes are (of course) by Manish Malhotra. Preity isn’t doing only the item song but she has a small part in it as well. Maybe Salman hired her to play her girlfriend to make Kareena’s character jealous? Share you thoughts here.
