… but they did win the Kingfisher Fair Play Award, which Ness received on behalf of the team.
Congratulations to Deccan Chargers for being the new IPL champions. They won today against the runner up Royal Challengers Bangalore by 6 runs!
So here the IPL 2009 comes to an end with our Kings XI Punjab finishing 5th. Who was your favorite player and what were some of your highlights this year?
Now Preity can go back to work again, but there has been no confirmation about a new movie yet, there is also still a strike going on in Bollywood, so untill that is solved we probably wont hear or see anything about Har Pall or Main aur Mrs Khanna

Bollywood director Samir Karnik is all set to come up with an episodic film on actress Preity Zinta’s IPL team ‘Kings XI Punjab’. If reports are to be believed, the young director is planning to bring out a 24-episodic film on Zinta’s lively Kings XI.
The series will reportedly reveal a lot of interesting behind the scene stories of Preity’s IPL experience. According to our source, the players will be shown through four cameras in their dressing room and suites. Also, team’s owner, Preity Zinta, who will supposedly be the film’s leading lady, will be seen going to the temple everyday and distributing ‘prasad` to all the players, which she actually used to do.
A film on ‘Kings XI Punjab’, which has its share of superbly talented cricketers like the ‘King of Sixes’ Yuvraaj Singh, heartthrob Brett Lee, the very charming Irfan Pathan, is definitely going to be a hit with the fans.
We hope that the film proves to be a bigger hit than the team’s on-the-field success this year!

Kings XI Punjab lost their final match against Chennai by 24 runs. The only way they can reach the semis now is by a huge lose for Bangalore tomorrow, but that seems unlikely.

Opponent: Chennai
By the time Punjab play their last game, against Chennai, Bangalore and Rajasthan would have completed their matches against Delhi and Kolkata respectively. Wins for both will have Bangalore on 14 points while Rajasthan will have 15, and the pressure on Punjab, presently on 14 points, to beat Chennai will be immense. Even if Punjab lose, they can still make the cut if Bangalore lose one or both of their matches, leaving at least two teams tied on 14. A net-run-rate scenario won’t help Punjab, though, since theirs is lower than Deccan and Bangalore, and defeat will further worsen the NRR. Realistically, they need to beat Chennai to qualify.
Tomorrow Punjab will face Chennai in their final match before the semis, go kings!!

Kings XI Punjab won by 1 run today from the Deccan Chargers, Punjab is now in the 4th place for semis!! with only one match to go against Chennai 
Yuvraj did some excellent bowling today taking up his second hattrick this season!

Punjab won from DD by 6 wickets!!! so they are still in the game from the semis!!
Our bowling was very good with Sreesanth in form again taking 2 wickets & Brett Lee taking up 3!, while our batting was slow, Pathan changed our fortunes hitting three 6s to save us

Centurion: Bollywood actress and Kings XI Punjab Owner Preity Zinta who is camping in South Africa from last one month is now missing her family, country and friends a lot. She specially misses Golgappas-an Indian delicacy.
The bubbly actress said that if her team wins the IPL she will do Bhangra on one foot. During the match against Mumbai Elevens, Preity said that it has been a one long month and she misses her family, country and friends a lot.
Talking about her team, Preity said that she was there to support her team and. Players were there to play and it was the duty of the coach to look after the team’s performance.
She expressed hope that her team find berth in the semi-finals and will also win the IPL.
Preity said that she was happy to see the overwhelming response of the people for IPL and people were coming in large numbers at night matches while they also find time to watch matches during day time as well, she accredited IPL commissioner Lalit Modi for the success and said that it was Modi’s efficacy to make the IPL successful.

KXIP lost today from MI by 8 wickets Jayawardene was injured, he he had to make way for Pomersbach. Unfortunatly Punjab’s batting was not upto par and lost their wickets easily.
Now they have to win all their 3 remaning games, to make it to the semi’s!
Next game is friday night against DD a must win!
